LUXURY ASPARAGUS first began in 2015, in response to situation that happened to me when working at a world famous department store. A comment on the artifice of luxury and the divide between working and upper class lifestyles. The asparagus are real, but sprayed in either silver or gold. They deteriotate during the course of a show. A fragile moment in time.

The work has had a great response over the years. For a 2018 series of shows CULTIVATE COLUMBIA ROAD I was asked to expand on the series, which led to the creation of LUXURY CAKE and LUXURY SANDWICH inspired by news stories echoing my own experience.

In 2019 I exhibited (and sold) a miniature model version of LUXURY ASPARAGUS for 'Miniscule' which ran during the Venice Biennale in 2019, and was featured in Forbes.
